Hornscroft Park
Gifted to the Town in 1921 on the 21st birthday of her son by the Duchess of Portland and known locally as the Hornscroft, the park was originally formed laidout in 1937 as a designated national fitness park and is situated off Langwith Road.
It contains the castle entrenchments, which are a listed ancient monument to one of its boundaries.
The park remains at the centre of plans to house the town's new community swimming baths together with a fitness centre. These proposals are progressing in partnership with the District Council and with some funding from Sport England.
The park has also been designated a "Beacon Park" project and a Friends of Bolsover Parks initiative is in place to support community involvement in its welbeing.
If you'd like to find out more about any of these plans please email the Town Clerk using the link on the left.
The Park's play area was refurbished in 2008.
Our hope is that the park will be able to benefit from a Rennaissance phase and be returned to its former glory.
